Delicious dining mood boards to get the party started

A Moroccan Tablescape from The Copper Quail

The warm glow of the afternoon sun filters through the leaves of a nearby tree, as its branches hover over a low dining table. Soft, jazzy music echoes in the background, as clinking glasses and rattling flatware play along to the beat. Candles in various heights and in an assortment of colors are ready to light the way. And delicate flowers, silky and supple, sit pretty amongst the dishes and plates awaiting guests to be seated. The scene is set and the party is about to begin. Let’s Soirée.

After the menu is finalized and the invitations have gone out, I dig into my favorite part of planning; the tablescape. Linens, dinnerware and drinkware are first to set the stage. Then it’s onto decor to fit the theme. Candles, flowers, and other adornments find their spot on the table, while napkins are threaded through their partnering rings. Place cards are the last to be set in place; the final touch on a beautiful table for my honored guests.

I love having my friends and family come together to sip and share in a delightful meal while enjoying each other’s company. Whether it’s an intimate luncheon for four or a holiday gathering for 20, designing a tablescape makes every get-together extra special.

Check back next week for more of my Style by Lucy Mood Boards. We’ll be doing a little textile tango.
